Time, Treasure, and Talents: Celebrating Our Beloved Community

“STEWARDSHIP CAMPAIGN KICKOFF SUNDAY!”

What makes a congregation strong? Is it the number of members, the size of its building, or the resources in its treasury? Or is it something deeper—the courage to persevere, the willingness to care, and the love that sustains a community through life's changing seasons?

North Shore Unitarian Universalist Congregation has weathered challenges, celebrated successes, welcomed new generations, and remained steadfast in its commitment to being a voice for liberal religion in southern Louisiana.

As we begin our annual stewardship campaign, we celebrate the gifts of time, treasure, and talents that make our beloved community possible. Drawing upon Unitarian Universalist values and wisdom from the world's diverse cultures and spiritual traditions, Rev. Gordon Clay Bailey invites us to reflect on gratitude, generosity, our shared humanity, and the sacred responsibility of building a community where all may belong.

In a world longing for compassion, justice, truth, and reconciliation, our congregation's presence matters.

Together, we honor what we have inherited, celebrate what we are building, and imagine what we might yet become.

Come celebrate the gifts we bring and the possibilities we create together!

Rev. Gordon Clay Bailey will lead the service.

“What Radicalized Us?”

This Sunday we’ll be exploring the way media, personal experience, faith, and historical events shape our political identities.

We’ll hear personal stories from Jasmine Kemp about how her own political identity was shaped and gain insight into the political identity of our nation and our faith. The hope is to better understand ourselves and our own political identities ahead of November’s election. Come join us as we attempt to answer the question, "What radicalized us?"

Greeters: Jude Selva and Leslie Roussel

Jasmine Kemp will lead the service.

Many Pieces, One Community

We are thrilled to welcome artist Craig McMillin to our pulpit this Sunday. During the service, Craig will create a piece of art with clay as a reflection on our shared humanity and interconnectedness.

Everyone will be invited to participate by adding a small piece of clay infused with silent joys and sorrows, fears, resentments, prayers, or hopes.

Together, we will create something beautiful that reminds us we are all part of a larger whole.
