A Unitarian Universalist Congregation
The North Shore Unitarian Universalists fosters liberal religious living through worship, study, service, and fellowship. Our congregation is a member of the Unitarian Universalists Association of Congregations (UUA) nationally and the Greater New Orleans Unitarian Universalists (GNOUU) locally. Located north of New OrleansThe congregation is located on the north shore of Lake Pontchatrain about 30 miles north of New Orleans. North Shore UU serves all of St. Tammany Parish and portions of the parishes and counties to the north, east, and west, including some areas of Mississippi. Convenient Access28662 Krentel Road is less than a mile northwest of the intersection of Interstate 12 and Highway 434 (exit 74), in Lacombe, midway between Covington and Slidell. We have ample off street parking and wheelchair accessibility.
Modern SanctuaryOur sanctuary is a low contemporary building that harmonizes with its natural surroundings. The open interior allows it to be configured easily to accommodate church services, weddings, art shows, large meetings, and other special events. The floor-to-ceiling windows at the sides and the back bring the beauty of the outdoors into our visual experience.
Gardens and LabyrinthOur Feng Shui Garden includes pave stone walkways, a labyrinth, ponds, and a children's play area. Our children use the garden for outdoor religious education programs. Our church members use the garden for a variety of special occasions. Our labyrinth is available to all for walking mediation, reflection, and spiritual enlightenment. |
